5 reasons to visit Europe off season
Visiting off season has so many benefits in my opinion. Here are just a few of them.
1. Cheaper flights. Booking a flight with 20 to 40% cheaper is perfection. Being able to pay for a flight ticket to Venice or Rome less than 50 euros is #goals. October, November, February and March are the cheaper months of the year when it comes to travel. Or at least for Europe. Of course that you need to pay attention to seasons as well because you don't want to go to Bali or Dominican Republic and stay underneath an umbrella all the time because of the rain. But at least for Europe these months are perfect for travel.
2. Cheaper hotels. Also hotels are cheaper. You can find 4 star hotels with very good prices or even central hotels. When the request goes down, so will the prices.
3. Less crowded. I don't like crowds. So for me the less crowded it is, the better. Sometimes the touristic places can get so crowded that you can't even see them or enjoy them properly. Less crowded also means more options for places to eat or drink a coffee.
4. Less time waiting in line. I remember when we went to see Vatican. We arrived around 9 AM and there was not even 1 person waiting in line. We were the first ones. Another way to not wait in line if you don't like to travel off season are skip-the-line tickets. We were lucky because everywhere we went we didn't had to wait in line for more than 25 minutes.
5. Weather. Having to walk 15 km in hot weather is hard and it can make your holiday not that enjoyable. We had 30 degrees Celsius in Cinque Terre in October last year and it was quite tough. I'd much rather have rain over heat. Also always make sure you have water with you to stay hydrated.
