The most iconic place in Zakynthos

Even though I stayed in Zakynthos for only a couple of days, I fell in love with this island. In Zakynthos you'll find one of the most beautiful beaches in the whole Greece. Navagio is the most known and iconic place in Zakynthos. And it deserves this title 100%.  The beach is located on the north-west part of the island.

You can see this beach either by boat or by bus/car. I say bus or car because it depends on how you arrive on the island. Keep in mind that you can reach the island with a ferryboat. It takes approximately 1 hour with the ferry from Kilini port.  If you arrive by bus charter you will have the possibility to see Navagio in a tour of the island with the bus. If you arrive with your personal car of course you can reach that area whenever you want. There is an area arranged for tourists where you can see the beach from above and the view is amazing. Depending on the time of year you visit the island, be prepared to stay in line in order to see it. There is also a tour of the island by ship which is even better than the one on mainland. Through this tour you will actually sit on the beach for a whole hour. Sunbathing and taking lots of pictures. So bring your swimsuit with you (not like me). 

The beach even though it looks sandy it's not. It's actually full of small white rocks which is the reason the water is so blue and crystal clear. You can also rent a boat for yourself and stay at this beach for how long you want to stay. It'll be worth it. If you own a drone, you'll have some stunning shots as well. I don't own one but I've seen some epic drone shots taken at Navagio. If I were to choose only 1 reason to visit for the first time or second time Zakynthos, it would definitely be this beach.
