All the places where we ate in Corfu

Corfu was nice. And the food was nice as well. Tasty. There were several places where we ate and I am going to list them all here. Read until the end for bonus points.

1. Taverna Spiros (Paleokastritsa) - this is by far my favorite taverna on the whole island. There is a blog post about it if you wanna know more details about it.

2. Nereids Restaurant & Bar (Paleokastritsa) - here we ate our first meal in Corfu. We just arrived on the island after a very long drive by bus and we were tired and starving. It is close to Akrotiri Beach Hotel. The location is really good looking and the food was good. They have something called menu of the day at several price points with several number of dishes to choose from. Depending on how many you choose you'll pay between 15 and 30 euros.

3. Alipa Restaurant (Paleokastritsa) - this is located on the harbour of Paleokastritsa and you can enjoy some nice views. Here we kept it simple and ate greek salad and souvlaki. Good food but definitely not the best. But the views are nice.

4. Pane e Souvlaki (Corfu Town) - here we ate because we were looking on Tripadvisor for some place to eat. We found this one which had really great reviews. The food was good but as with many central places the portions were smaller and the prices higher. But at least it was tasty. We ate mixed grill for 2 people.

5. Taverna Diporto (Corfu Town) - chose the location based on Tripadvisor as well and it did not dissapoint. This is a small greek taverna a few steps away from the center of the city. Therefor portions are bigger and prices lower. There were also eating 2 greek men when we arrived and usually this is a good sign. If locals are eating then you should eat as well. Here we ate tzatziki and stuffed vegetables and they were delicious.

6. Pita Pita Grill Room (Acharavi) - we ate here after we went to Canal D'Amour. Also thanks to Tripadvisor. Here we went with the classical souvlaki and it was delicious. It is a small traditional greek family business. Very tasty souvlaki!

7. Xenia Restaurant (Paleokastritsa) - only ate dolmades because of a sudden hunger =) but they were good. 6 euros for 7. Until now I haven't found a place in Greece where I ate dolmades and they weren't delicious. They seem to have perfected the art of dolmades somehow.

8. * Bonus * Alle Koukou (Corfu Town) - I say this is a bonus because we did not eat here but we drank red Corfu beer and frappe. They have draft Corfu beer which I highly recommend. The frappe was also good.

Have you eaten at any of this places? What other restaurants/tavernas do you recommend?
