How to travel light
Travelling is nice. But packing for a trip is not that fun. That's why I like to keep it simple. I am not a fan of taking extra luggage with us. Below you will find a few tips that I think will help you when it comes to your packing behaviour.
1. Check the weather. Checking the weather is one of the easiest thing we can do when it comes to our travels. It helps you prepare for the weather that you will actually have during your holiday. So if the weather will be rather warmer, don't pack 3 sweaters for a 3 days holiday.
2. Plan your outfits. It might not sound fun but for me it is. Planning your outfits will help you to not overpack. No matter how good I plan my outfits I have at least 1-2 items that I don't actually wear. And my packing essentials have gotten much smaller in time.
3. Make an essentials travel list. This will be very different from a person to another so it's really up to you and your needs. For example for me a few essentials are camera, scarf, sunglasses and happy thoughts. Those count too.
4. Don't buy extra luggage. It might sound scary but in the end, when was the time you actually used everything you brought during a holiday? It will save you money (these things get hella expensive sometimes), time (you will not have to wait for your checked luggage) and your arms, legs and back will thank you.
5. Roll your clothes. Or Konmari fold them. Google it. It's a thing. These have been the 2 most effective ways of packing for me. Both of these will help you with space so if you really want to take those 3 sweaters you'd better start rolling them.
What are your tips for travelling light? Let me know. I'm curious. We can learn from each other.
