Our Rome holiday in pictures - part I
Rome was the first city that we saw. It was our first abroad experience and first flight for me. And it was beautiful. We stayed 4 nights and we felt like we needed to see everything. We weren't able to do that since Rome has so many attractions that is impossible to see them all in such a short period of time. But please enjoy our roman adventure in pictures.
DAY I
We were like "whoooaa what a beautiful church" - snap a picture. This was actually our whole trip. Probably have around 2500 shots from Rome.
Then we started seeing the beautiful Colosseum. Bam. Another picture.
Beautiful church. Another one (DJ Khaled style). We walked I think almost 12 km that first day but it was so worth it. And then we saw the masterpiece called Vittorio Emanuele monument or also known as Altare della Patria. You can actually go up for a small fee of 7 or 8 euros to see the panorama of the city. We didn't do it (which I regret) but I bet the views are stunning.
And then we made a new friend. Isn't he handsome?
And after that we started heading to the famous fontana. And our jaws dropped. My only regret regarding this beauty is that we didn't go early in the morning to see it better and to avoid the crowds. If you want to avoid the crowds go as early as 5-7 AM. You will love it.
And after this we went back to the hotel. We ended our night well I believe. We also threw coins in the fountain. Maybe next year we'll go back.
DAY II
After we had breakfast we went to visit the Colosseum and Roman Forum. We also caught a beautiful sunset while we were ending our visit to the Roman Forum.
Colosseum and Roman Forum took almost the whole day. We were lucky though that we only had to wait in line at Colosseum approximately 20-25 minutes. Which is ok. You can buy tickets that include access to Colosseum, Roman Forum and Palatine Hill and they are available for 2 days so if you want, you can split the visits in half.
After our visit to the Roman Forum we headed to piazza Navona (pictures above) and after that we ate the tastiest gelato at Gelateria del Teatro.
And since this post is too long already, stay tuned for part II of this adventure.
