Our Rome holiday in pictures - part II
And here you have part II of the story we started last time.
DAY III
We dedicated this whole day to the mighty Vatican. And it was incredible. Vatican will need at least a full day. And when I say full I mean from 8-9 AM to 8-9 PM.
Everything in these museums is at superlative. The details are insane. The work that has been put into that is remarkable.
The entrance to St. Peter's Basilica is free. Although you will have to go through security in order to enter. And this is where the line will usually happen. But the museums and Sistine Chapel are not free. We got lucky because we went around 9-9:15 AM and there was absolutely no one in line. If you'll travel during high season like between june and august I would suggest you to go as early as 8 AM.
What I highly suggest you to do is go up in the Dome. You pay a small fee of 6 (by stairs - 551 steps) or 8 euros (lift + stairs - 320 steps). The views are totally worth it. We got up exactly in time for the golden hour which was lovely. And we had the most incredible luck because the whole day was quite gloomy and cloudy.
If I could have slept up there I would have. Trust me. Also try and stay until the night falls because the basilica looks really beautiful.
DAY IV
Day 4 was for piazza di Spagna, the lovely Pantheon, Convento dei Cappucini (not for the faint-hearted), Fontana di Trevi again because we had to and strolling around the city.
You can make some shopping in piazza di Spagna if you have some extra cash. Maybe Gucci will have some nice deals =).
The Pantheon has free entrance which is nice.
This is how they get you. Like this!!!!!!
Can you believe the picture above is the Supreme Court of Cassation? Doesn't it look totally awesome? It is near Sant'Angelo castle.
We walked like crazy people during our whole stay there. Didn't had a chance to rest but it was worth it. Made so many beautiful memories and looking back on them makes me happy. Have you been to Rome? What was your favorite attraction? Mine I think it was Fontana di Trevi.
