3 Free Places to See in Rome
Another year has passed, a new year to travel the world and see the beauty this planet has to offer. It is said about Rome that is like an open air museum. And it really is. If you are travelling on a budget or you simply wanna enjoy some free places in Rome, here are some ideas for you.
1. Fontana di Trevi. Probably the most photographed fountain in Rome. Might even say in the world. The details on this fountain are absolutely marvelous. And it is FREE. One tip for you if you want to avoid the crowds: go as early as you can. Somewhere between 5 and 8 AM. We arrived there around 6 PM (bad mistake) and we had to squeeze ourselves between the crowds in order to find a place to take a picture. Also golden hour might be an option to see it. Before the sunrise and sunset. If you have a cent throw it above your shoulder in the fountain and make a wish. It is said that your wish will come true and you will return someday to Rome.
2. Pantheon. This is quite a very imposing temple in Rome. And the photos you can take here are endless. Even though it is free, there is a schedule so make sure you go between 08:30 AM and 07:30 PM (Monday through Saturday) and 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM on Sundays. It is stunning.
3. Altare della Patria or also known as the Vittorio Emanuele monument. Also another majestic place in Rome. Keep in mind that you have the possibility to pay a fee of 7 euros to go up on the terrace to see the panorama of Rome. But you don't have to pay it if you simply don't choose to go up. Besides this, the whole monument is free to see. We didn't go up on the terrace when we saw it and it was still beautiful.
I hope you will go and see these places in Rome. Rome has so many wonderful places to see it is impossible to see all of them in just a few days. It's the kind of place that definitely needs a second visit or you can go once and stay for like a whole week to actually get to enjoy every place this city has to offer.
